Lemon!

One of Dadsie's co-workers gave us a potted lemon tree and a potted lime tree as housewarming gifts. In 2004. We are proud to say, we have finally harvested the fruit!

Funny story: we got them a little mixed up. Kept picking the "limes" only to find them almost devoid of juice and bitter as all get out. Time went by. One hung, neglected, onto the tree for about, oh, several months, then started to turn yellow. Oh. Guess those were actually not-yet-ripened lemons. (See photo of ripe lemon and fool's gold lime.)

Nolan did the honors and then proceeded to eat about half of it. I used the rest of the juice in the supper recipe.

Nourishment from the land ! Well, something like that. There's no soil under my nails or anything, but I have watered it once or twice. (Please don't ask about the lime tree. Let's just ride the success of the lemon one.)

That's right, he won't touch a twice-baked potato, but he'll eat half a lime. Nut!!
