This chicken better taste good.

You know how sometimes you don't realize that you have a paper cut or some other slight wound until you squeeze an orange or energetically (read: messily) toss a salad with vinagerette? Then the piercing pain is a surprise. Well, I don't like surprises.* That's why I consider myself lucky that today, while I was preparing the marinade for this recipe, that I grated my knuckle while zesting a lemon. It was like slow motion - first the zing of the shredder OUCH!, then the "oh, no, here comes the LEMON!" See - no surprises...I knew that lemon juice was going to hurt. That's what I call "Learning Optimism" (which, by the way, is my current life's work.)

Anyhoo - here are pictures of the offspring which is why you look at this blog anyway!

*Except surprise parties. For me. Heck, even for other people. But especially for me.

Sorry to hear of your wound, but those are some darn cute kids...I am afraid that's the focus. It's all about the children...

You like surprise parties? How do you know, have you ever had one? Is this a subtle hint?

I like the car photo but as a mother of a young child the crazy face photo is kinda intimidating! It seems to forwarn of tears ahead!
